Bat Out Of Health

A bat develops an unexplained illness that isolates her. After being misdiagnosed, she learns to trust what she's seeing for herself.

Bat Out of Health is a short, digitally drawn 2D animated film inspired by my experience of developing long COVID. Exploring chronic illness, community, self-advocacy and dark humour, the film uses allegory to reflect the uncertainty of living with an unseen condition while remaining open to multiple interpretations.

This film was created as my graduating project from MA Character Animation, Central Saint Martins.
