"Celine" tells life’s story from a slug’s view. She seeks others like her but can’t. The story shows her attempts via her words and reality. As narrator, she’s dishonest—claiming she's a “regular snail with small confidence issues,” but others see otherwise. She talks of fun and friends, yet viewers see bullying, exclusion, and her altering appearance to fit in. The animation captures feelings of alienation and dishonesty. It ends without acceptance; though safe and heard, she hides her true self.
Liminal Space

A liminal space is a time when someone is in between stages. I felt this when I saw a woman on my commute slowly write a message to someone she cared about but wasn’t getting a reply. I regretted leaving the train before knowing what happened next. At first, I felt guilty for judging a stranger’s relationship, but then I realized the story was about the feeling of being stuck in that uncertain, painful moment between conflict and making up—a feeling I understood well.
