Bat Out Of Health

A bat develops an unexplained illness that isolates her. After being misdiagnosed, she learns to trust what she's seeing for herself.

A 2D hand drawn animation using TV Paint, and charcoal on paper. Bat Out of Health is a short animated film inspired by my experience of being diagnosed with Long Covid. Exploring chronic illness, community, self-advocacy and dark humour, the film uses allegory to reflect the uncertainty of living with an unseen condition.

This film was created as my graduating project from MA Character Animation, Central Saint Martins.
